About Us

Welcome to the OZONE Music Foundation, where creativity meets opportunity, and music becomes a force for change. Based in the heart of Louisiana, we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to educating, nurturing, and empowering those who create, perform, and love original music. Our mission is simple yet bold: to build a vibrant music culture that inspires and uplifts communities, starting right here on the Northshore.

"It was a great experience to meet and interact with other writers on a regular basis, but more importantly it helped me get over my nerves of performing my songs in front of others."

Our Story

The OZONE Music Foundation was born from a dream—a vision sparked by co-founder Greg Barnhill, an Emmy-winning, Grammy-nominated songwriter, and a group of passionate friends. What started as a small idea has grown into a movement. Now in our eighth year, we’re proud to be a cornerstone of music education and industry development in Louisiana. From humble beginnings to hosting Louisiana’s largest original music-only festival, we’ve stayed true to our roots: fostering talent, celebrating creativity, and giving back.
Greg Barnhill, a Slidell native now thriving in Nashville, brings his love for his home state to every project we undertake. With hits like “Walkaway Joe” (recorded by Tricia Yearwood and Don Henley) under his belt, Greg’s journey inspires us—and the next generation of artists we support.
